Caressa Dawn Robinson, 40, Linton, was arrested by Deputy Logan Milligan of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department late Friday, January 7.

Deputy Milligan responded, along with GCSD Sgt. Jordan Allor, to a residence in rural Linton when a caller reported Robinson had assaulted a family member.

When they arrived, Deputy Milligan talked to a woman who said Robinson had asked to use her phone and when she asked her how long it would be, Robinson hit her in the nose and knocked the woman’s glasses off her face then began “wailing” on her. The woman said Robinson hit her with a closed fist in the face and head.

Deputy Milligan reported the woman had swelling and redness around an eye, eye socket and nose as well as long, red, welted scratches down her throat.

When the deputies talked to Robinson, she allegedly admitted she got in the woman’s face, pushed her down on the ground and started choking her.

According to Deputy Milligan’s report, more than one family member explained that Robinson had been on medication for various mental health issues but had stopped taking her medication.

Robinson was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail where she was booked in at 11:45 p.m. with bond set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted bond and been released from jail.

Robinson is facing a criminal charge of battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.
