/An incident in eastern Greene County on Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of a rural Bloomfield man who allegedly made physical threats while armed with a knife. He’s also facing charges of felony domestic battery in another case and in a third case, he was arrested last December, accused of shooting his own son with a BB gun.
Jason Tyrel Haywood, 36, of Bloomfield, was arrested by Det. James O’Malley of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday afternoon, June 25. Haywood was booked in to the Greene County Jail around 5:30 p.m.
Late today, Thursday, two criminal cases were filed against Haywood.
In one, following Det. O’Malley’s investigation into the Tuesday incident, Haywood is facing a preliminary charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony.
In the other, Haywood is facing a preliminary charge of domestic battery with a prior conviction for battery, a Level 6 felony. This charge stems from an incident that occurred on Friday, June 14.
Haywood has not yet appeared in court for the initial hearings in these two cases.
This story will be updated with details about these incidents after GreeneStreets obtains additional information.
After his prior arrest in December, Haywood was charged with domestic battery on a person less than 14 years old, a Level 6 felony, and neglect of a dependent – places dependent in a situation that endangers the dependent, a Level 6 felony.
Those charges were filed after Haywood allegedly shot his own son with a BB gun twice, once in the back and once in the neck.
At some point Haywood posted bond and was released.
That case is still pending.
