Report of reckless driver leads to arrest for OVWI
/A Bloomfield woman is accused of driving while intoxicated. She was arrested last week after a deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver in eastern Greene County.
Cali Ann Prince, 18, Bloomfield, was arrested by Deputy Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early Thursday, April 30. She was booked into jail around 3:35 a.m. and was initially held without bond pending her appearance in court.
Deputy Allor was dispatched at 12:14 a.m. on April 30 on the report of a reckless driver in the area of State Road 45 and Chapel Road in eastern Greene County.
Prince was determined to be the driver of a black 2004 Honda CRV. When Deputy Allor made contact with her, he reported she showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety testing.
Prince was transported to the sheriff’s department where she submitted to a chemical test – results pending.
During the booking process, a jail officer found Prince was in possession of pills that were later identified as alprazolam, a Schedule IV controlled substance.
When Prince appeared in court for an initial hearing on Tuesday morning, May 5, she was formally charged with: Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.
Prince was released on her own recognizance.
