Rep. Borders: Indiana House accepting student applicants for 2026 page program
/State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) said Hoosier students who are interested in learning more about state government are invited to participate in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2026 legislative session.
Borders said pages can watch the legislative process in person, tour the historic Statehouse building and interact with their state representative. The full-day program is available for students who are 13 to 18 years old. Pages are permitted by Indiana law to receive a one-day excused absence from school for their participation.
"The page program gives students a front-row seat to how laws are made in Indiana," Borders said. "Pages play an integral role in legislative operations, delivering messages and engaging with their elected officials while learning about government."
The program begins in January with opportunities every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the legislative session. Eligible students and their parents are encouraged to submit an application corresponding with the date they would like to page. Pages are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on their chosen day, and groups serve together on Wednesdays. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
