Pedestrian injured in early morning hit-and-run; Deputies seeking info on driver and vehicle

Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Davis Aerne and Det. Sgt. James O’Malley are investigating an accident involving a vehicle that hit and seriously injured a pedestrian north of Linton.

It happened between 3 and 4 a.m. They’re asking for help from the public to find the suspect vehicle and identify the driver.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department got a call early this morning, Tuesday, April 23, about the accident and responded to the scene on North State Road 59 in the area near County Road 250 North.

The victim sustained serious injuries but they are not believed to be life-threatening. No information regarding the victim’s identity has been released.

The victim was hit by a 2016 or 2017 silver Jeep Cherokee that was northbound on SR 59.

GCSD reported the vehicle sustained damage to the mirror on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Deputy Aerne and Det. Sgt. O’Malley are leading the investigation, assisted by other GCSD personnel.
