One driver was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after a Thursday morning crash in eastern Greene County involving three vehicles that all spun 180 degrees after drivers lost control.

Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan Gooding, the investigating officer, responded around 7:30 a.m. to the scene on South State Road 45 north of Arrowhead Drive.

Cody Randall, 21, Bloomfield, was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion northbound on the highway and was slowing to make a turn to the west.

Gregory Price, 41, Owensburg, was driving a 2017 Ford Flex, also northbound, and was traveling behind Randall. Deputy Gooding said Price failed to notice the vehicle in front attempting to make a turn and hit the vehicle in the rear end. Gooding said when this happened, both drivers lost control of their vehicles causing both vehicles to spin 180 degrees in the roadway.

Frederick Seitz, 26, Poland, Ohio, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic southbound on the highway and was approaching the other two vehicles when they crashed and spun. Price’s vehicle side-swiped Seitz’s vehicle on the driver’s side which caused Seitz to also lose control, spin 180 degrees and go off the west side of the road.

Seitz was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital by the Greene County Ambulance Service with a complaint of pain. The other two drivers were not reported to have been injured.

Deputy Gooding reported Randall’s vehicle sustained damage to the rear end and front end, Price’s vehicle sustained damage to the front end, and Seitz’s vehicle sustained damage to the driver’s side.

In addition to Deputy Gooding, GCSD Major George Dallaire also responded to assist on the scene along with personnel from the Center Fire Department and Greene County Ambulance Service.
