A Jasonville man who failed to show to begin serving a sentence on drug charges, is now in custody.

Cory A. Terrell, 44, Jasonville, was arrested on January 12 by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore.

He was wanted on two warrants for his arrest, one ordered in Greene Superior Court by Judge Dena Martin and another one in Greene Circuit Court by Judge Erik Allen.

Following Terrell’s conviction and sentencing in Circuit Court on Wednesday, May 23, Judge Allen allowed Terrell to turn himself in to the Greene County Jail no later than the morning of Tuesday, May 29, to begin serving his sentence. He was a no show.

Terrell was convicted of dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony, as a result of an investigation in 2017 by the Greene County Drug Task Force.

He was sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections with three years suspended. He was given credit for 112 days already served.

Terrell was arrested in May of 2017. By early October, he had posted $3,000 cash to bond out of jail. He was present in court on the day of his sentencing when the judge granted him a week to report to the jail.

After he didn’t show up at the jail, the case was re-opened and the warrant issued.

A new case filed against Terrell in Superior Court by a Greene County Prosecutor’s Investigator, and another warrant was issued on a preliminary charge of failure to return to lawful detention, a Level 6 felony.
