Shawn Michael Lee Forsythe of Jasonville was arrested by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Heather Wood.

Deputy Wood was on duty on Christmas, Tuesday, December 25, when she was dispatched shortly before 5 p.m. along with GCSD Deputy Davis Aerne to a residence on West County Road 600 North in the Linton area in reference to a complaint about a threat.

When the deputies arrived, they talked to Forsythe who told them he and his family had been arguing over cleaning the house. He also said one family member kept bothering him and was trying to provoke a fight over an SD card for a cell phone.

When the deputies spoke to other family members, one said everyone had been asked to help clean up the house for Christmas but Forsythe was not helping, was off his medication, and with guns in the house, they feared what he might do while people were sleeping.

Another family member said Forsythe refused to give an SD card back, had destroyed a cell phone and had yelled that if the s--- kept up, he was going to kill everyone.

Yet another family member confirmed they heard Forsythe screaming the same words – that he would kill everyone.

Forsythe was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in around 6:45 p.m. with bond set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

A criminal case was then filed against Forsythe and when he appeared in court for his initial hearing this Wednesday afternoon, January 2, he was charged with intimidation – threat is to commit a forcible felony, a Level 6 felony. A public defender was appointed to represent him and he was served with an order to have no contact with alleged victims.

As of 6 p.m. Thursday, Forsythe had not posted bond and remained in jail.
