A Bloomington man who was a guest in a Greene County residence in March is accused of stealing an X-Box One S with accessories and downloaded games, then selling it in Bloomington.
Dillan White, 18, Bloomington, is being summoned to appear in Greene Superior Court in early May for an initial hearing on a charge of theft, a Class A misdemeanor.
This case was investigated by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore.
On March 17, Deputy Elmore first talked to a man who reported the theft by phone. The man said he was house sitting at a residence in the Solsberry area while the resident was on vacation and he’d picked up his friend, Dillan White, in Bloomington to spend the night of March 16-17.
The man said he woke up around 5 a.m. on March 17 and heard White calling a friend, asking for a ride. The man went back to sleep but when he woke up later that day, both White and the X-Box One S were gone.
When the resident returned, he met with Deputy Elmore and provided the serial number of the X-Box One S. According to the resident, the X-Box was worth around $300 but it also had approximately $300 worth of games downloaded on it, plus a $50 X-Box headset and a $50 X-Box remote controller were also missing.
On March 29, Deputy Elmore learned that White had sold an X-Box One S to Game World in Bloomington for $120.
