Linton woman charged with OVWI
/A Linton woman was in court on Monday facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She allegedly had a BAC of .20 when she crashed her Cadillac in December.
Vivian Carol Tucker, 69, Linton, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, December 18, by Linton Police Chief Paul Clark.
Clark responded to a crash involving a white Cadillac on West State Road 54 in the Linton area on December 18 around 12:23 p.m.
Tucker was the driver and a witness on the scene confirmed he saw Tucker operating the vehicle.
Clark reported Tucker exhibited numerous signs of intoxication including slurred speech and poor dexterity and balance. He noted she was wearing two different kinds of shoes.
According to his report, she failed field sobriety testing. She was transported to the police department then to Greene County General Hospital for a chemical test. A doctor said the result showed Tucker had a BAC of .20. The legal limit is .08.
Tucker was booked into the Greene County Jail around 4 p.m. Her bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $400 and was released on December 19.
This week when Tucker appeared in Greene Superior Court for her initial hearing, on Monday, January 6, she was formally charged with:
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and
Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor.
