Trista Lea Street, 25, Linton, was arrested by Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department early Tuesday following a Monday night incident.

When Officer Franklin responded to a domestic in Linton around 10 p.m. Monday, he found a man sitting on the ground outside a residence with blood on him. He said his girlfriend, Trista Street, had punched him the face then threw something at him as he was trying to leave. The thrown object hit him in the back of the head.

LPD Officer Bobby Pierce also responded and the two officers talked to two two juveniles who said when they heard Street and the man saying mean things to each other in an argument, they went to their room.

Both Street and the man said the argument started when they were in the drive-through lane at a fast-food restaurant in Linton then continued when they got to the residence.

Street allegedly admitted she had punched the man during the argument but denied causing the cut on the back of his head. She claimed the man had also hit her. An ambulance was called to the scene and an EMT reported no injuries to Street and she refused to show any injuries to officers and allow any injuries to be photographed.

The man was transported to the hospital and when he was interviewed, he said he tried to lay down and go to sleep but Street kept yelling so he gathered a few things and tried to leave but she stopped him, held the door shut then started swinging at him. She landed a punch then threw something that hit his head. He denied that he had hit Street.

Street was booked into the Greene County Jail at 12:24 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27. Her bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted $400 and been released from jail.

Street is facing a preliminary charge of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. Her initial hearing is scheduled for next Monday afternoon, May 3.
