Linton woman accused of violating a protective order
/A Linton woman, facing preliminary charges of invasion of privacy, is set to appear in Greene Superior Court next month following an incident that occurred in Linton on Nov. 10.
Officers Andrew Mifflin and Davis Aerne of the Linton Police Department responded to a call of a possible invasion of privacy of a storage unit located at 110 2nd Street Southwest. The complainant reported the door to the storage unit had been kicked in. When officers arrived on the scene, the complainant’s son had screwed the door shut and fixed other damages. According to the probable cause affidavit, Tabitha Tosti was the one believed to have caused the damage.
While speaking with the owner of the property, it was noted that there is a no-contact order between the owner and Tosti, which was in effect at the 110 2nd Street Southwest location. The order went into effect May 31, 2022 and expires May 31, 2024.
Approximately two hours prior to the report being called in, the officers spoke with Tosti at the aforementioned address in regard to a separate issue. At that time, she was inside a tall chain link fence surrounding the storage units. Neither officers were aware of the no-contact order at that time.
Tosti has been issued a summons to appear in Greene Superior Court on Dec. 19 where she will be formally charged with invasion of privacy, violates a protective order, a Class A Misdemeanor.
