Linton man charged in two incidents on the same night

Last week a story was posted about a Linton man accused of causing serious injury in a domestic. There’s more to the story and a new case has been filed against him.

Last week’s story, posted on Monday, July 6, is duplicated here with the update on the latest case below….

Story posted last Monday, July 6:

A Linton man is accused of causing serious injury during a domestic altercation. The victim was reported to have a broken nose and contusions to the face and eyes. He’s also accused of threatening to kill the officers who arrested him.

Brandon Adam Christopher Lee Criss, 34, Linton, was arrested by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department early Saturday, July 4.

LPD Officer Kyle Robison, the investigating officer, and Officer King started an investigation into a domestic altercation around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, that involved Criss as a suspect. Before they arrived, they were informed that Criss has left the scene on foot and an alleged victim was on her way to Greene County General Hospital for treatment of injuries she received.

Criss allegedly hit the woman in the face several times then in the chest and the stomach. She was treated in the hospital for a fractured nose, contusions to the face and eyes, bleeding and extreme pain.

Around 10:41 p.m., the officers located Criss on foot, near 3rd Street NW and A Street SW in Linton. Officer Robison reported Criss was stumbling on the sidewalk, falling down in the grass then onto the sidewalk. They detected the odor of alcohol and said Criss was slurring his words.

Criss was taken into custody then transported to Greene County General for a medical clearance before being transported to jail. While at the hospital, Criss allegedly tried to kick Officer King and said, “I am going to kill you officers.” He had to be restrained in the emergency room for treatment.

After clearance, Criss was booked into jail at 1:12 a.m. on the Fourth of July. Bond information was not available, but on Monday night, he was still in jail.

Criss is facing preliminary charges of domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony, and intimidation, a Level 6 felony. A date for an initial hearing has not yet been set.

UPDATE:

Not long before the investigation into the above case began, Linton Police officers were dispatched to a different battery incident, that also involved the same suspect, Brandon Criss.

At approximately 9:16 p.m. on Friday, July 3, Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department was dispatched to a battery on 6th Street SE in Linton. LPD Officer Kyle Robison also responded.

Officer King reported a man was able to describe a suspect who had first gotten into a verbal dispute with his fiancé about her dog. He said the suspect then hit him on the back of his neck before running off.

While the officers were on this scene, Officer Robison was notified of the domestic incident detailed in the earlier story. The suspect in both cases matched the description of Brandon Criss, who was arrested and booked into jail on charges related to the domestic.

Later on another day. Officer King asked the man allegedly hit by Criss to come to the police department to view a photo lineup. Officer King reported out of photos of six individuals, the man was able to identify Criss as the man who hit him and said he was 100 percent sure.

Last Friday, another criminal case was filed against Criss. For allegedly hitting the man, Criss is now facing a charge of battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.

As of late Tuesday, July 14, Criss is still in jail.
