Linton man accused of violating protective order
/A Linton man was arrested for violating a protective order. He’s accused of being in the residence of the protected person. He said, and she said, she invited him over.
Frank Eldon Caddell, Jr., 38, Linton, was arrested by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department yesterday, Tuesday, January 19, on a warrant that was issued for Caddell’s arrest on Friday, January 8.
Officer King was dispatched to a domestic incident on 5th Street NW in Linton at 6:11 p.m. on Saturday, January 2.
In an earlier incident, Caddell was arrested on October 26 in another domestic incident. He posted bond and was released. He was charged with domestic battery and resisting law enforcement, both Class A misdemeanors. A protective order was issued ordering him to have no contact with the woman who was the alleged victim. That case is still pending and the protective order was still valid when the latest incident occurred.
When Officer King arrived on the scene, he talked to a woman who said she had a protective order against Caddell, her ex-boyfriend, and that he was asleep in her house.
When Officer King asked the woman how Caddell got into the house, she allegedly said she let him in and that he had spent a few nights there at her residence.
Officer King reported he found Caddell asleep in a back bedroom. After waking him up and advising Caddell of the protective order, Caddell allegedly said he knew there was a protective order but the woman had asked him to come over and spend the night.
Caddell was advised to leave and that information would be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office filed a criminal case against Caddell and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Now Caddell is facing a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy in violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor. He was being held without bond pending court appearance.
