Cathy Marie Chesterfield, 39, Jasonville, was arrested by Officer Skylar Scott of the Jasonville Police Department on Friday, May 15. She was booked in to the Greene County Jail at 6:46 p.m.

She has since posted bond, been released and was scheduled to be in court early this morning for an initial hearing.

Officer Scott was dispatched to the Shakamak Inn Motel that Friday for a fight in progress, reported to be between two females. When Officer Scott arrived, the fight was apparently over but one of the women, Chesterfield, was sitting on a second story balcony. JPD Officer Jacob Gambill also responded and as he approached, Chesterfield started yelling. She was advised to quiet down.

Officer Scott reported Chesterfield was warned several more times to stop yelling then ordered to stand up and put her hands behind her back. She was uncooperative.

Chesterfield allegedly struggled with the two officers and scratched Officer Scott’s arm with her fingernails before she was in handcuffs.

Chesterfield allegedly admitted there was “medical marijuana” inside her room but she did not agree to a search. A search warrant was obtained and officers reported finding a green plant substance that field tested positive as marijuana.

Chesterfield is facing charges of:

  • Disorderly conduct – engages in fighting or tumultuous conduct, a Class B misdemeanor,

  • Possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and

  • Resisting law enforcement – draws or uses a deadly weapon, a Level 6 felony.
