Indianapolis man charged with meth possession
/An Indianapolis man was arrested during a weekend traffic stop in Linton. He’s been charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Clinton Clay Meadows, Jr., 23, Indianapolis, was arrested by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department on Saturday, September 12.
Around 12:20 a.m. last Saturday, Officer King initiated a traffic stop on a red Ford Focus for not having a license plate light and for the improper display of a license plate.
LPD Officer Joe Riley and his K9 Kona also responded to the assist on the stop at the intersection of 4th Street NE and C Street NE in Linton.
Clinton Meadows was the driver with a female passenger. Meadows said he didn’t have any identification with him but he thought he had a valid driver’s license. A check revealed he had a regular state ID.
When Officer Riley deployed K9 Kona to a sniff around the vehicle, Kona alerted to the presence of a controlled substance.
Officer King reported that during a search, Officer Riley found a smoking device with white residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Meadows was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 1:32 a.m. and held without bond pending court appearance.
Meadows has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
