Indiana State Police investigating death of infant

Indiana State Police Bloomington Post Detectives initiated an investigation on May 27, into the death of a Greene County infant.

According to a press release from the Indiana State Police, the Bloomington Post received a call from the Indiana Department of Child Services regarding an infant death in Greene County. The mother of the infant was identified as a minor. Detectives traveled to IU Health Bloomington Hospital and initiated their investigation. Crime Scene Investigators were also contacted and collected evidence at the hospital and the residence where the infant was born.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death. No further information will be released at this time.
