Shea Kathleen Imhausen, 37, of Bloomfield, was arrested on Wednesday, May 22, by Deputy David Elmore of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Elmore was dispatched to locate a silver SUV traveling westbound on State Road 54 east of Bloomfield after a caller reported the SUV was all over the road and had almost hit oncoming traffic.

Deputy Elmore located the vehicle as it was turning off the highway onto J.L. Wilson Road east of Bloomfield.

Elmore said Imhausen was the driver of the SUV, a 2014 Nissan Rogue, which she parked in the middle of J.L. Wilson Road. She then exited the vehicle and opened the rear driver’s side passenger door.

When Elmore, who had pulled in with his emergency lights on and parked behind her, asked her what she was doing, Imhausen said her son had to “pee.”

Elmore noted Imhausen showed signs of impairment and he could smell the odor of alcohol but she first said she had not been drinking any alcohol. Later, she said she had one glass of beer.

Imhausen and her child were transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department where someone was able to pick up the child and Imhausen allegedly failed field sobriety testing.

Elmore reported Imhausen tested at .273 BAC on a certified chemical breath test. The legal limit is .08.

Imhausen was booked into the Greene County Jail with her bond set at $13,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Since then, she posted $1,300 cash and was released.

An initial hearing was scheduled for today, June 3, but Imhausen retained an attorney who filed a motion for a continuance. That was granted and her initial hearing was rescheduled for Thursday, June 13.

Imhausen is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor,
