Bloomfield man gets warnings and a trip to jail
/A Bloomfield man was arrested after he drove past an officer who knew the man’s driver’s license has been suspended since 2013.
Jeremy Paige Kohn, 34, Bloomfield, was arrested on Thursday night, July 16, by Lt. Marvin Holt of the Bloomfield Police Department.
When Kohn was booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:19 p.m., his bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $100 and was released later that night.
On Monday, July 27, he appeared in court for an initial hearing and was formally charged with driving while suspended – a knowing violation with a prior conviction within 10 years, a Class A misdemeanor.
On the night of Kohn’s arrest, Lt. Holt was on patrol in Bloomfield in the area of Mechanic Street and South Washington Street when he saw Kohn drive by in a silver Ford F-150. Lt. Holt knew Kohn had not had a valid driver’s license for several years. It was suspended back in 2013.
Kohn was arrested and he was also given warnings for a false and fictitious registration on the vehicle, failure to provide proof of financial responsibility and for not having a working license plate light.
