Wayne Wright, age 95, of Linton, passed away at 3:06 am on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born in Hamtramck, MI on January 20, 1926, the son of Enos & Edna (Lynch) Wright.

He graduated from Linton High School and received his Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana State University. He was a teacher for 30 + years and most of those years were spent at Linton High School and he also owned and operated Rite Cleaners in Linton for several years. He was a WWII Navy veteran as well. He loved woodworking, camping and playing cards. He was a member of Linton First United Methodist Church.

Wayne is survived by his loving daughters, Debbie (Randy) Putoff of Dugger and Ronda (Mark) Tuttle of Gallatin, TN; granddaughters, Brandi Putoff, Cari (Jason) Putoff and Laci (Derek) Boze; great grandchildren, Bowen, Zoee, Rachel, Jocee, Olivia and Aubrey as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Etta Mae Wright; grandson, Steve Strong; brother, Wilbur Wright and sisters, Hildred Schmittler and Eula Hudson.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 with Pastor Ben Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight of Southern Indiana through the funeral home.
