Tamra Ann (Patterson) Young

Tamra Ann (Patterson) Young, 56, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born October 2, 1968 in Linton, she was the daughter of Leon Patterson and Penny (Inman) Patterson Smiddie.

Tamra worked for KPT and was a Manager at Dollar General in Loogootee. She was a member of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Pamela Ann Young-Koontz; her mother, Penny Smiddie; one brother, Todd Patterson; and her grandchildren, Mishelle Young, Jacki Jo Koontz and Chip Koontz; a niece and nephew; and her special little guy and nephew, Leon Ray Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Patterson. Her maternal and paternal grandparents and a step father, Joe Smiddie, and two uncles.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Friday at the funeral home.

Tamra will be Loved and remembered and “she did it her way.”

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Riley Children’s Hospital in her memory.
