Rodney J. Beatty
/Rodney J. Beatty, age 52, of rural Linton, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born in Vincennes on March 25, 1969, the son Joe & Hazel (Herold) Beatty.
Rod was a 1987 graduate of Switz City Central High School. He graduated from Cincinnati Bible College with a Bachelor Degree. He received his education in geology and was licensed in social work. While in college, he enjoyed working security at the school and at concert venues.
Rod drove a school bus for White River Valley School Corporations for 23 years. He worked during his younger years at Walmart and car sales. He invested in farms and fixing them up. He did backhoe work for others, worked on cars, and farmed.
He was an Elder at Switz City Christian Church and was a member for many years. He served on the Ellis Water Board and the Lyons Food Pantry.
He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with his children, being with his granddaughters, helping the youth at church, and helping anyone.
Rodney is survived by his wife whom he married May 5, 2005, Lisa A. (Stalcup) Beatty, his parents, his children, Kaylee (Dreydon) Jerrell, Remington Beatty, and Piper Beatty, his sister, Rene (Michael) Welch, three grandchildren, Jay’Lynn, Kohlson, and Ella, and two nieces, Allison and Elizabeth Welch.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, with Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will follow at Switz City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 P.M., and Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lyons Food Pantry through the funeral home.
