Opal L. (Dobson) Hamlin
/Opal L. (Dobson) Hamlin, 79, of Bedford, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at her residence at Bliss Place in Bedford. Born February 26, 1943 in Linton, she was the daughter of Vernon and Alice (Strauser) Dobson.
She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, member of the Greene County Gideons, and member of the Bloomfield Wesleyan Church. Opal loved playing the piano and singing in mixed groups. She loved history, and made her scrap books on family history and daily events. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Surviving relatives include: Children, Clyde Dewayne Hamlin (Deanna) and Annette English (Steven); grandchildren, Jessica Lockman (Kyle) and Ashton English; her great grandchildren, Makayla Kayanna Lockman, Aria Marie Lockman and Mariah Pachant Lockman; her siblings, Larry Dobson (Mary) and Leonard Dobson (Kathy); a brother-in-law, Fred Hamlin (Nancy); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Dewayne Hamlin on February 5, 2022, two grandchildren, Thomas DeWayne Hamlin and Kayanna Marie Hamlin, one sister, Judy Mitchell, three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Maxine Fell, Irene Sparks and Ann Hamlin, two Brothers-in-law, Robert and Rex Hamlin and her parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield, with Rev. Dirus Dustin officiating.
