Melissa May Simmons
/Melissa May Simmons, age 84, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 9:30 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2020, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Linton on October 17, 1935, the daughter of William & Fannie (Weaver) Angleton.
Melissa retired from General Electric in Linton after 25 years of service. She enjoyed taking care of her grandkids & great-grandchildren, working crossword puzzles, sitting on the porch, and watching her soap opera's.
She is survived by her three sons, Bo (Pam) Simmons, Larry (Julie) Simmons of Linton, and Terry (Linda) Simmons, all of Linton, a son-in-law, Scott Dudley of Linton, seven grandchildren, Spank (Mandy) Simmons, Amanda (Nate) Wooten, Tommie (Amiee) Dudley, Casey (Bill) Lehman, TyRel Simmons, Logan Simmons, and Zack Dudley, six great-grandchildren, Waylon, Addison, Carson, Emrick, Evie, and Paxton, brother, Wendell (Mid) Angleton, brother-in-law, Donald Cullison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Simmons, her daughter, Vicki A. Dudley, two brothers, Pete Angleton and Ed Cunningham, and a sister, Sally Cullison.
Private Funeral service will be held and webcast at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 15, 2020, with her son, Bo Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Private visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
