MARY J. (BUSH) CADWELL, 68, of Bloomington, IN passed away at 3:05 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2023 in the loving arms of her children.

She was born March 27, 1955 in Bloomington, IN to Fred Bush and Jean (Plowman) Bush.

Mary married Michael A. “Mike” Cadwell on May 23, 1975, before his death on January 17, 2018.

Survivors include her children, Tina Carver (Daniel) of Bloomington, IN, Tom Cadwell (Kayle) of Bloomington, IN, Keli Kruse (Dustin) of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Sophie, Jake, Charlie, Ollie, Jane, Dorthy, Daisy; siblings, Margaret Suozzi of Vincennes, IN, Betty Harris of Boston, GA, Tom Bush of Bloomington, IN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mary graduated from Bloomington High School. She worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for many years. She then went to work for A Total Tan for a number of years. Mary loved gardening and working in her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and baking as well. Mary’s true calling in life was to be a mother. She was blessed with three children of her own. She became a motherly figure to many who came into her life because of her warm and caring spirit. Mary’s children would like to give a special thanks to Jenny, her hospice nurse for her loving care and compassion.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M. with her son Tom, giving the Eulogy.

Private family interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.

One of Mary’s last wishes were to have beautiful flowers at her funeral, but those who wish to can send monetary donations to IU Health Hospice, 619 West 1st Street, Bloomington, IN 47403 in memory of Mary. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
