Margaret J. "Peggy" Shonk

Margaret J. “Peggy” Shonk, 96, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her residence. Born September 23, 1925 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Louis Eli and Clara Ruth (Hochstetler) Miller.

Peggy worked at NSWC Crane and was a lifetime member of the Greenwood VFW #5864. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and The Smithville Christian Church in Bloomington.

Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Nancy Clark of Bloomington; one son, David Allen Shonk of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Marcy Thompson (Brian), Heath Clark (Amber), Jennifer Shonk and Melissa Shonk; great grandchildren, Dominick Thompson, Garrett Clark, Chandler Resler, Kameron Clark, Alexis Thompson, Avery Thompson, Caleigh Resler, Deacon Clark, Avin Thompson, Dylan Shonk, Gavin Shonk, Chance Clark, Konnor Clark and Willow Clark; and her brother, James Miller (Judy).

She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Shonk, Jr. on November 1, 1994, two sisters, Patricia Miller and Donna Youdzukinas and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Pastor Kyle Crafton officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon cemetery in Midland, Indiana.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Smithville Christian Church.
