Kenneth "Kenny" E. Nocus

Kenneth “Kenny” E. Nocus, age 86, died April 14, 2018, after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 16, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio, to Victor Nocus and Elsie (Schofield) Nocus.

He grew up and attended school in Bicknell, IN. Kenny was married to Celia Mae Nocus on May 1, 1955. Kenny and Mae lived in Bloomfield, IN. He was a member of, and faithfully attended, the Bloomfield First Presbyterian Church. Kenny served in the US Army Medical Corps from 1952-1955. He retired from the Crane Naval Support Activity as an electronics technician, having served from 1965-1994. Prior to his career at Crane, Kenny owned the Nocus Sand and Gravel Company in Bloomfield, IN.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Randall Burcham, grandson and spouse, Grant and Alisha Burcham, granddaughter and spouse, Abigail Burcham and Chance Hurt, one great grandson, Henry Burcham-Hurt, one sister Jane Small, a nephew, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at the Bloomfield First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday April 17 from 4-8 p.m., with a funeral service Wednesday April 18 at 1 p.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery; Reverend Dawn Black will officiate.

Kenny was a sports fan, avid vegetable gardener, loved musical performance and theater, adored his family, and knew no strangers. He will be greatly missed by many.
