Kathryn J. 'Kathy' Haywood

Kathryn J. “Kathy” Haywood, age 60, of Linton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday morning, January 15, 2021.  She was born in Vincennes on August 29, 1960, the daughter of Ronald Lee & Sarah Kathryn “Sally” (Sperry) Brown.

Kathy was a 1979 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.  She was a homemaker, did catering, and was an at-home caregiver. Kathy was a member of the Mineral United Methodist Church and Delta Theta Tau for many years. She enjoyed cooking and feeding all her friends and family, loved to go grocery shopping and finding a deal, was an avid camper, play Euchre, and loved being with her grandchildren, family and friends.  

Kathy is survived by her father, Ron (Marsha) Brown of Linton, husband of forty years, Tim Haywood, two daughters, Brandee (Kris) McKee of Linton and Dana (Mike) Williams of Dugger, two sons, Jason (Alicia Campbell) Haywood of Linton and Tanner Haywood of Koleen, three brothers, Randall (Sue) Brown of Bloomfield, Robert (Ann) Brown of Bloomfield, and Richard (Michelle) Brown of Linton, a sister, Rhonda (James Franklin) Brown of Jasonville, eleven grandchildren, Ben, Abby, Addisyn, Alyvia, Ivan, Jaxson, Kaden, Liam, Lyle, Conner, and Kaylee, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah “Sally” Brown, her grandparents, her two nieces, Alexandra Poindexter and Breanna Russell, and her aunt, Judy Fox.

Public visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 4 - 8 PM. Private family funeral service will be held at the funeral home and webcast at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, with Pastor Jeff Fulk officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.  

Due to State Mandate, only 25 people are allowed in the funeral home at one time, and face mask must be worn.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lexi Poindexter Memorial Fund to purchase blood pressure cuffs for expectant mothers (held with the Greene County Hospital Foundation), through the funeral home.
