Joyce Ann Earle Scott
/Joyce Ann Earle Scott, 75, of Linton, Indiana, passed away suddenly in the early hours of Thursday, January 15, 2026, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Though her passing was unexpected, Joyce’s life was full of love, laughter, and service to others.
Born on May 22, 1950, in Linton to Charles and Anna Marie (Mitchell) Earle. She was a proud graduate of Linton-Stockton High School’s Class of 1968.
Joyce dedicated many years of her life to caring for others - whether through her work at Wright Refrigeration, Greene County General Hospital, or most recently at Glenburn Senior Living, where she was not only a devoted employee but also a friend to many residents. Her gentle spirit and hardworking nature earned her the respect and affection of everyone who knew her. A member of Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Joyce found comfort and joy in her faith. She loved being part of her church family, attending services, and spending time with members of the church. Outside of work and church, Joyce had a deep love for traveling with friends and reading, but nothing brought her greater happiness than time spent with her family.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Michelle (Robert) Kirkland of Crossville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Courtney (Caity) Steur of Belleville, Michigan, Ashley (Austin) White of Parma, Ohio, and Bryce Beck of Monroe, Michigan; and her great-granddaughter, Kaylie White, who was truly the light of her life. Joyce cherished every moment with them and took immense pride in their achievements and joys.
Joyce is also survived by five siblings - Jan Earle and Charles Earle, Jr., both of Linton; Linda (Mike) Doerner, Karen “Sue” (Allen) Adams, and Pam (Bill) Boone, all of Sullivan - along with a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember her warm smile and generous heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene P. Scott.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating.
