Joseph Warfield “Joe” Edwards III, 50, of Midland, IN passed away at 10 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2021 in his home. He was born October 14, 1971 in Jersey Shore, PA to Joseph Warfield Edwards II and Betty (Rishell) Edwards.

Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Melvie Ellen Wiley of Midland, IN who he married on May 3, 2013; aunt Joan Eck of Jersey Shore, PA; uncle Albert Edwards of Jersey Shore, PA; brother and sister in-laws, Jack Blanton of Midland, IN, Sharon Wiley of Midland, IN, Maggie Jewel Wiley of Shelbyville, IN, Cora Chittenden (Robert) of Jasonville, IN, George Dale Wiley (Carmella) of Jasonville, IN, Calleen Joy Wiggington of Midland, IN; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Grandfather, Joseph Warfield Edwards I; father and mother in-law Elva Wood Wiley (Melvie); sister and brother in-laws, Bertha Irene Blanton, Elva Smith Wiley Jr., Gene Wiggington.

Joe worked as a janitor and in maintenance at Pilot in Pennsylvania and Terre Haute and at the Sullivan Walmart until he became disabled. He enjoyed blacksmithing having done ferrier work shoeing horses. He also enjoyed woodworking, making bowls, knives and jewelry just to name a few. Joe enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Joe’s wishes cremation will be scheduled with a Memorial Service and burial of ashes to be held at a later date.
