George Arley Smith, age 51, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:32 pm on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Monroe County Hospital in Bloomington. He was born in Hammond on September 19, 1969, the son of  Jon "Ted"  & JoAnn (Legg) Neff.

He was an eagle scout, graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, was in the U.S. Army National Guard, and worked with his father at the Smith & Brooks Locker Plant in Hammond.  

Surviving are his mother of Linton, a son, Samuel James Smith of Bloomington, and a sister, Carla Smith (Hubert) Watson of Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Private arrangements are being handled by Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
