Edward L. Cox
/Edward L. Cox, 65, of Newberry passed away Wednesday June 10, 2020 at his residence. Born November 26, 1954 in Washington, Indiana the son of Harold L. and Gertrude A. (McCallian) Cox.
Edward was a coal miner, he retired from Graber Post Building, he was a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge # 84, he served as the first president of the Greene County Master Gardner’s, was a member of the Indiana Blacksmithing Association, he loved gardening and blacksmithing.
Surviving relatives include his wife Tammy Cox of Newberry, three children, Nicole Stahl of Bloomfield, Bryan (Cheri) Cox of Lyons, Eddie Cox of Newberry, his grandchildren, Caitlyn Shively, Abby, Bailey, Sydney, Dylan Stahl, Taylor, Tanner Butler and Summer Blanton, he has one great grandchild due in September, two brothers, William Henry (Donna) Cox of Odon, Dave (Marjorie) Cox of Washington, his nieces and nephews, Scott Cox, Terri Cox, Chris (Bridgett) Edwards, Rikki Edwards, brother-in-law by choice K.J. Brown and one sister-in-law Cathy Edwards.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Rick Edwards and his father-in-law Forrest Edwards.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 P.M. on Sunday and 10 A.M. Monday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons. A Masonic service will be held at 7 P.M. on Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will follow at Dog Island Cemetery in Lyons.
