Edward "Ed" R. McDaniels, age 67, of Jasonville, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born in Linton, IN on August 14, 1958, the son of Jack McDaniels & Dollie (Carpenter) Pickett.

He worked as a mechanic and loved to work on cars his whole life. He was a loving family man who enjoyed making everyone around him smile and laugh.

Ed is survived by his mother, Dollie Pickett; fiancee, Laura Faulk; children, Matthew Coakley, Kristine (Dustin) Wendel, Shawn (Carla) Coakley, Collin (Autumn) McDaniels and Jacqulyn McDaniels; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Matthew McDaniels and Tim McDaniels; sister, Rita McDaniels-Wood as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack McDaniels and maternal grandparents, Gail & Irene (Dove) Carpenter.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home of Walton Funeral Service, Inc on Sunday, February 8, 2026. A private burial will be observed by the family at Burris Chapel Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 pm until the time of service.
