Edward "Ed" Franklin

Edward "Ed" Franklin, age 69, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 1:43 pm on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Linton, IN on July 7, 1954, the son of William C. Franklin, Sr. & Betty Jean (Yates) Franklin.

He was a graduate of Linton Stockton High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana State University in Physics. After college he went to work for NSW Crane as an electrical engineer until his retirement. He enjoyed dabbling in amateur radio, target shooting, gardening and loved woodworking where he made pens and other items his family cherishes.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Karen Franklin of Linton; children, David (Carrie) Franklin of Worthington and Angela (Steven) Earle of Linton; grandchildren, Hunter Earle, Alexis Earle, Keagan Earle, Jayden Teague, Makayla Pigg and Brianna Pigg; sister, Nancy Maegerlein; brother, Virgil (Cheryl) Franklin; special sister, Debra Franklin as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William C. Franklin, Jr. and John David Franklin as well as a sister, Elizabeth Franklin.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, January 26, 2024 with Pastor Archie Ellett officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm, and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
