Annalee (Owen) McClanahan

Annalee (Owen) McClanahan, 101, of Tarpon Springs, FL formerly of Jasonville, IN  passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 in Addington Place of East Lake.

She was born April 26, 1922 in Worthington, IN to Floyd Gray Owen and Trella Ruth (Humphreys) Owen.

Annalee married Max Lee McClanahan on January 20, 1943.

Survivors include her children, Mark McClanahan (Ina) of Floyds Knob, IN, Robert McClanahan (Jo Ann) of Palm Harbor,FL; grandchildren, Dr.Angela Turner (Sherrod) of St. Petersburg, FL, Melinda McClanahan of Palm Harbor, FL; great-grandchildren, Luke Turner of St. Petersburg, FL, Grace Turner of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Evely Harvey of Tampa, FL

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max McClanahan; sister, Ruth Corbin.

Annalee graduated from Linton High School Class of 1939, Central Business College, and Indiana State University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Geology. Annalee was a member of Lawton Street Christian Church. She was formerly employed at Peoples Trust Company in Linton, and was former librarian and board member of the Jasonville Public Library. She was a member of Tri-Kappa, Eastern Star. She and her husband, Max formerly owned & operated McClanahan Funeral Home in Jasonville. One of her greatest joys was playing bridge and euchre, and prized the friendship of those who shared her passion for the games. Annalee loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M.  Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 2 P.M. with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.

Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Annalee to Lawton Street Christian Church or Jasonville Public Library. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
