Dorothy J. Jones, 92, of Linton, Indiana, passed away with loved ones by her side, on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born on May 8, 1930, in Linton to James L. ‘Fly’ and Dessie E. (Powell) Franklin.

Dorothy married Clifford Earl Jones on September 24, 1955.

Dorothy was a homemaker and co-owner of Jones’ Trophy Center. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting.

Family left to cherish the memories of Dorothy include: two daughters, Susan Sewell of Washington and Jean Ann Kirk of Jasonville; four granddaughters, Valory (Randal) Gilbert, Sarah (Jarrod) Sands, Ami (Roland) Slaubaugh and Jordyn (Daulton Eaton) Sewell; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Kallie, Abigail, Aubrie and Leland.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Jones; two sisters, Vergie Delores Magby and Mary Franklin; eight brothers, William Hardesty, Paul, Robert, Billie, James ‘Red’, Kenneth, Charles and Alden Franklin.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Kenneth Franklin officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 12 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
