Donald W. Edwards
/Donald W. Edwards, 83, of Bloomfield passed away Wednesday March 17, 2021 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington after a long illness. Born December 6, 1937 in Bloomfield the son of Earl and Blanch Edwards.
Donnie retired from NWSC after 25 years, then worked as a self-employed contractor and Janitor at Bloomfield United Methodist Church for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days and was active in the little league program and coaching, the boys called him Big D. He participated in several work mission trips and was a supporter and previous Board member for Full Life Development ministry in Thailand. He was a collector of antique woodworking tools, stonewall pottery and glass bottles, enjoyed going to auctions and buying and selling antiques and bluegrass music shows, he was a member of the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church in Bloomfield.
He leaves behind his family whom he loved, his wife of twenty-seven years Linda, two grandsons whom he raised, Travis (Amy) Edwards of Westfield, Chris Raney of Loogootee, two step-daughters, Laurie (Darren) King of Bloomfield, Pam Moore of Bryant, grandchildren, Warren Edwards, Kylee King, Trey Moore, Keyanna Moore, Angel Raney, Clayton Raney, Madalynn Raney, Aiden Edwards and Skylar Raney, three grandchildren Trenton Edwards, Malaki Raney and Brinley Moore
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Deloris (Cooper) Edwards, his children Susie Edwards and James David Edwards, grandsons, Cody Brewer and Lyncoln Raney.
Friends may gather at 12 P.M. Saturday at Grandview, Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Chris Babcock and Mike Abrams officiating.
