Denise Gilliland

Denise L. Gilliland, 62, of Vincennes passed away Saturday April 18, 2020 at her residence. Born December 29, 1957 in Linton, Indiana the daughter of Walter Steele and Betty (King) Steward.

Denise had worked for several years for WR Dunn Real Estate (Bloomington) in the office, she was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church. In recent years she resided in Vincennes to be near her grandchildren. She enjoyed walking the track at the Vincennes YMCA and had an avid love for reading.

Surviving relatives include her son, Jason (Jennifer) Noel, two grandchildren, Devon Noel and Dylan Noel, one sister, Debbie (Rick) Lemons, four step-brothers, Richard Steward, Brad Gregory, Reggie Gregory, Mark Gregory, her step-mother, Norma Steele and several nieces and nephews.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Walter Steele, her mother and step-father Betty and Delno Steward.

A private graveside service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Pastor Scott Chastain officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

The family requests all memorial donations be made to The Vincennes Animal Shelter in Denise’s name.
