David Oliphant
/David Oliphant, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at his residence. Born June 13, 1946 in Linton, he was the son of Orval and Velma (Busby) Oliphant Helms.
David was a Stoner Miner for Cave Stone in Flat Rock, Indiana. He attended Healing Waters Ministries in Columbus. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Letha Sharon (Cook) Oliphant whom he married on October 12, 1969; one daughter, Autumn Danielle Brown (Justin); two sons, Clayton Dean Oliphant (Kim) and Justin Lee Oliphant; two sisters, Evelyn Ann Ogle and Orvella Heaton; six grandchildren, Kayla, Logan, Javan, Seth, Maddux and Myla; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Charles “Chuck” Helms, one step sister, Lois McCarty and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jimmy Don Ogle officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home.
