Clyde Emil “Brownie” Watkins 90, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Fowler, Indiana. Born April 11, 1929 in Bloomington, he was the son of Frank H. and Bessie L. (Bingham) Watkins.

He was a Construction Superintendent for Hagerman Construction Corporation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended Christ Memorial Temple Church in Lafayette.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lila (Hawkins) Watkins whom he married October 7, 1995; one son, David Watkins (Evelyn); a daughter, Pamela Sheets; one stepson, Andrew McCarthy; a stepdaughter, Lila Love (Stephen) ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Rosemary (Flake) Watkins in 1977, 2nd wife, Lillian Ann (Rock) Watkins in 1994, one son, Clyde Edward “Butch” Watkins in 1966, one brother, Lester “Gene” Watkins and two sisters, Delores Sullivan and Glapha Watkins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Brother Eddie Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
