Charles M. Dwyer
/Charles M. Dwyer, 94, of Linton passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Waters of Lebanon Nursing Home. He was born on September 27, 1927, the son of Louis Dwyer and Naomi (Phelps) Parrish.
He worked at Crane in the Security Department. Charles served in the Marines during WWII and was wounded on “Iwo Jima” earning himself a purple heart medal. He also worked at the Sherriff Department for 5 years.
He enjoyed playing the steel guitar, was an avid Cubs fan, working word puzzles, and reading his bible.
Charles was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife; Alma Sue Dwyer, whom he married on May 24, 1977, children; Betty Miller, of Bloomfield, Diana Dwyer, of Linton , Melanie (Christopher) Fulford, of Linton, Crystal (Felix) De Alba, of Hawaii, grandchildren; Shannon (Chris) Williams, of Terre Haute, Trey Bedwell, of Linton, Lauren Bedwell, of Linton, Tjader (Reina) De Alba, of Japan, Yamaris (Albert) Valenzuela, of Japan, Dianelys De Alba, of Hawaii, Xavier De Alba of Hawaii, great-granddaughter; Taylor Baker, of Bloomfield and 3 more great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers; Ronald Dwyer, of Poland and Donald Dwyer, of Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Billy Ray Dwyer, first wife; Mary Ann Dwyer, and stepson; Huey Long.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 4:00 P.M.-7: 00P.M with military rites.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home on Monday, December 27, 2021.
Graveside services will be held at Aberdeen Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. central time.
