Winifred L Banister, age 84, of Linton, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born in Oahu, HI on July 4, 1937, the daughter of Marcos & Rose (Aki) Garcia.

She worked as an aide for several years at Lyons Health & Living Center as well as Glenburn Home in Linton. She enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers and gardening. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Joan (Carlos) Graff of Indianapolis, Judy (Bryan) Vaughn of Linton, Cindy (Chuck) Hiett of Missouri, Norman M.D. (Gerrie) Banister of Indianapolis and Glenn (Ashley) Banister of Bloomington; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Norman E. Banister.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul through the funeral home.
