Mary Ellen Lowry
/Mary Ellen Lowry, age 81, of Spencer passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at home from Alzheimer’s and Cancer.
She was born April 22, 1942, in Marion IN, preceded in death by her parents Ken Waldo & Florence Latendresse.
Mary attended Christ The King & Joan of Arc Catholic Schools and Cecina Memorial High School Class of 1960. She attended the School of Cosmetology and owned her own salon, retired in 1980.
She married Frank Lowry on September 13, 1980, they just celebrated their 43rd anniversary. They had a great life together, spent a lot of time traveling to great places near and far. She loved spending time with family and friends and working in her flower beds. Her hobbies include singing, poetry, photography, snow skiing, reading, all animals and her grandchildren.
Mary was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church Mooresville and Stone Ridge Baptist Church Bloomington, The Moose Lodge, The Indianapolis Ski Club, Abate, and Corvette Indy.
Surviving Mary are her husband, Frank, Son Cary (Dawn) Beaven, Mooresville, IN. Stepdaughters Tammy (Butch) DeWitt, Solsberry IN, Lynn Lowry AZ, Jeanetta (Kevin) Ballenger, Solsberry IN, Anita Pelley, Mooresville IN. Grandchildren Drake and Drew Beaven, Trent (Christina) DeWitt, Tad (Tabatha) DeWitt, Ryan (Heather) McCormack, Zachary (Arielle) Pelley, Stephanie (Sam) Mitchell, Steven (Jessica) Lowry, Suzanne (Jamie) Rodriguez, Sarah (Nick) Lowry, Zachary & Derrick Balenger and 15 Great Grandkids. Siblings Frances Brynes (Rod) Rennie, Mark (Debbie) Waldo, Tom Waldo. Many nieces, nephews and great friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with David Wadsworth officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in The Lowry Family Cemetery, at Eagle Ranch 10073 E Linthcum Rd, Spencer, Greene County, IN 47460 where she has lived the last 6 years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
