Barbara Ann (Hutcherson) Howard

Barbara Ann (Hutcherson) Howard, 92, of Bicknell, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.

She was born on April 8, 1934, in Freedom, Indiana, to Leroy “Curly” and Martha (Hayes) Hutcherson. Barbara shared 42 wonderful years with her husband, Donald Howard, building a life centered on family, faith, and love.

Barbara dedicated 36 years to working in the restaurant industry, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm spirit. In her free time, she found joy in singing, reading, painting, and cooking; activities that reflected her creativity and love of life. Her faith was an important part of her journey; she faithfully attended the Hi-Way Church of God in Lawrenceville, Illinois, for 42 years and more recently worshipped at Connect Church on Main in Bicknell.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Howard; her children, Donna Jean Terrell, Glen Leroy (Hattie) Terrell, Estella Bays, Gilbert Lee (Lois) Buskirk, and Kenneth Lynn (Cindy) Buskirk; step-son Brad (Betty Jo) Howard; her grandchildren, Tracey Hines, Tammy Terrell, Cheryl Noonan, Nick Bays, Terry Browning, Bobby Bays, Zach Buskirk, Jordan Buskirk, Brandon Buskirk, and Ben Buskirk; several step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Martha “Pooch” (George) Miller; and several neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Norma Dicus, Nick Hutcherson, Frank Hutcherson, Eleanor Jean Hutcherson, Carl “Pick” Hutcherson, Morris Hutcherson, and Bobby Dean Hutcherson; brother-in-law, Gary Driver; and her grandsons, Glen and Josh Terrell; and step-son Rod Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel of Walton Funeral Service Inc., 140 E. Vincennes Street, Linton, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Newberry.
