Andrea Morgan Dale, Morgan, as she was known to most, age 23, of Linton, passed away in her mother's arms on Sunday, January 26, 2020, in Linton. She was born in Bloomington on October 11, 1996, the daughter of Andy & Shaney D. (Gilmore) Dale.

She was a senior at the University of Southern Indiana where she majored in philosophy and minored in theatre, cognitive science and psychology and where she earned graduating Magna Cum Laude in May 2020. Morgan was active in many social clubs including The Philosophy Club, Vegetarian Club, and the National Society for Collegiate Scholars, holding an office and graduating with honors. Morgan won the out for my Philosophy Award and was on the Deans list. She was 4 year recurring member for a reading of women's rights, Vagina Monologues. Morgan will be recognized as an undergrad having written an article pertaining to ethics in science fiction, will be published on paper regarding organ transplantation. She was very involved in the Evansville with a STAGEtwo PRODUCTIONS Community Theatre. She enjoyed soaking up the experience at STAGEtwo, pushing herself to grow as a writer, an actress, and human being. Her love of writing, theatre, philosophy, and of life, touched many people around her. She had written two plays "The Philosophy of Love and A Place Like This" and had two reading. Morgan and her cousins had formed Sagepear Productions, in which Morgan planned to produce her plays under in the near future.

She was a Riley Children's Ambassador throughout her childhood, serving as a posterchild for the Riley Miracle Ride, and also a posterchild for the Mad Max Ride for the Riley Children. She was also an active volunteer and ambassador for the Ronald McDonald House and was a very active advocate for the Indiana Donor Network, traveling the state to tell her story. She was a "Make A Wish Child", meeting with Pauley Perrette, the actress that played Abby on NCIS.

She had planned to attend Rice University where she would study bioethics, with aspirations to work in hospitals to advocate for patients, especially in children's hospitals.

She also enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, fishing, local literature, and spending time with her dog, Nikki.

Morgan is survived by her mother, Shaney D. Dale of Linton, her father, Andy (Diane) Dale of Linton, her maternal grandmother, Rita Gilmore of Linton, special aunt and cousins, Heather Porter, A.J. and Katy of Linton, several other aunts, uncles, and cousins, great aunts and uncles, and her best friend, Keeley Brown.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bill "Poppy" Gilmore, and paternal grandparents, Jack and Doris Dale.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2020, with Rev. Loran Mejean & Pastor J.D. Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 pm, and Thursday from 11 am until the time of service.

In Morgan's memory, if individuals are willing to become a donor, it will honor her life.
