Michael Patrick Martin, age 76, of Linton, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 28, 1945, the son of Charles K. Sr. & Anne Marie (Blazes) Martin.

He received a Master’s Degree in Education as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and served as Dean of Students in California for several years. He loved all sports, played golf and coached several basketball and baseball teams including the Silver Valley High School baseball team. He enjoyed being an umpire and playing softball throughout his adulthood. He was also proud of being a manager for the Budweiser Softball team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Terry (Hill) Martin of Linton; son, Scott (Sheila) Martin of Tracy, CA; daughters, Kelly Ann Martin of Fairfield, IL and Michelle (Scott) Walls of Linton; grandchildren, Katelyn Martin, Tara Bostrum, Ethan Maisenbach, Elijah Walls and Chloe Walls.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Martin, Timothy Martin and Charles K. “Bud” Martin, Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 pm. There will be reciting of the Rosary at 3:30 pm by Father Simon Natha.
