New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, November 30, 2022:

November 29, 2022, 4:36 PM, Willie Joseph Nelson, 52, Indianapolis, Indiana, was arrested on a warrant issued for failure to appear at his initial hearing on a charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended with a prior suspension within 10 years. His bond was set at $5000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He posted $500 and was released later the same day.

November 30, 2022, 12:59 AM, Joshua Wayne Thompson, 43, Merom, Indiana, was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony dealing methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was being held without bond pending court appearance. Linton Police Officer Cayden Walker was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
