New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, May 19, 2020:

May 18, 10:44 p.m. – Barry Hunter Scroggins, 26, Worthington, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. He was being held without bond pending court appearance. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan Allor was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
