April 6, 8:20 p.m. – Charles William Proctor, 47, Scotland, Ind., was arrested on a new preliminary charge of misdemeanor battery with bodily injury. His bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Jackson was the arresting officer.

April 6, 11:00 p.m. – Gary Alexander Moore, 18, Linton, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony aggravated battery and battery with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $25,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Linton Police Sgt. Logan Hobbs was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
