New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, May 14, 2019:

  • May 13, 10:12 a.m. – Cameron Scott Swaby, 29, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued in a case involving felony possession of methamphetamine. He was being held without bond.

  • May 13, 6:35 p.m. – Jason Lee Mitchell, 45, Springville, Ind., was arrested for an alleged work release violation. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Jackson was the arresting officer.

  • May 13, 10:56 p.m. – Josiah Clayton Samson, 31, Fort Laramie, Wy., was arrested on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor theft. He was being held on a surety only bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Jackson was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
